I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury to return herewith the original corres- Fondence forwarded with your letter of the 30th ultimo (51508/1914), relative to the employment of German firms as agents for British Insurance Companies in China, and to gay, with reference to the letter from this Department of the same date (28329/14), that the Secretary of State for the Colonies will no doubt consider whether licences may not be properly granted by the Governor of Hongkong in such cases as may be approved.
